SMS my GPS listens for incoming SMS text/data messages and conditionally sends an automatic reply containing GPS location data. The „trigger-word“ and white-listed sender phone number can be configured in the app.

SatDump will allow you to decode a wide range of satellites, exactly as it would on your computer. With a compatible SDR device and necessary hardware, most Android devices will be able to receive and process NOAA APT & DSB, LRPT and even HRPT and most S-Band satellites! A diagnostic tool that displays data reported by sensors in the phone. GPS and other location providers: * Refresh AGPS data (if supported by phone) either manually, or when a new data connection is detected * Status notification whenever an app accesses GPS (configurable) * Location, speed, bearing and error * Satellites in view and satellites used * Signal-to-noise ration (SNR) for each satellite * Time to first fix and time of last fix * Map view for comparison of different location providers Sensors (as supported by your phone): * Accelerometer (acceleration and gravity) * Rotation * Magnetic field * Orientation (azimuth, pitch and roll) * Ambient temperature * Pressure * Relative humidity * Ambient light * Proximity Networks: * GSM/CDMA/LTE cells in range with network type and signal strength * WiFi networks in range, with encryption type, channel and signal strength Known limitations: * Some phones will report only the network cell with which they are currently registered. On such phones you will only see one cell under "GSM" or "CDMA". This is a limitation of the phone's radio firmware, and SatStat has no way of getting more information from the device. * Some devices ignore the command to refresh AGPS data. This is a limitation of the GPS driver (which varies from device to device and is usually proprietary). Starting with version 2.0, SatStat has a workaround in place for automatic AGPS updates.

Some applications do not allow you to quickly and conveniently save files to a specified path. As a result, you have to install and use third-party file managers. Just share a file from any app to "Save to..." and Android will ask you where you want to save it. Or use the automatic saving option, then the files will be immediately stacked in the directories specified in advance.

This app hooks into the android system to intercept "view geo-uri". When getting a geo-uri it asks encyclopedia wikipedia (or travelguide wikivoyage or knowledgebase wikidata or photogallery wikimedia) and shows the results in Location Map Viewer (or in any other installed app that understands the format 'kmz'). Location Map Viewer shows a map with bubbles (or article-icons if enabled/available) for every wikipedia article found. If you click on a bubble you get a popup with a short article description and a button that links to the full article. Augmented reality application which overlays the names of hills and mountains on a camera view. The supplied data for hills of the UK and Ireland is better than that for the rest of the world. N.B Although it is not necessary (since v0.30) to have Google Maps installed to install the app, attempting to view the map overlay mode if you don't have Google maps installed, will crash the app. Even if you have that installed the "birds eye", map overlay mode won't work because the only map source is Google Maps and there isn't an API key in the source code. Anti-feature: Tracking. Crash reports are sent without interaction, but that can be disabled in the settings. Google Analytics was removed before building.

SmsLoc is an application that queries the location of contacts without the use of mobile data. It uses GPS to retrieve current position and SMS for requests/responses. SMS request format: `Loc?` SMS response format: `Loc:LAT,LON,ASL,UTC_S,V_KMH,ACC_M,BAT_PCT`, where: - `LAT, LON` are latitude and longitude in degrees rounded up to 4 decimal places.[^1] - `ASL` or Above Sea Level is the absolute altitude as reported by the GPS in meters - `UTC_S` is the timestamp of the GPS fix in seconds. The timestamp corresponds to the time of the actual fix, and not when SMS was received. - `V_KMH` is the speed in kilometers/hour - `ACC_M` is the accuracy reported by the GPS chip in meters - `BAT_PCT` is the battery percentage of the device sending the response

Find directions using the position of the sun in the sky. Usage: Start the app and place your device horizontally. Now touch the sun icon on the screen and rotate it towards the position of the sun in the sky. The compass will automatically rotate to point the directions once you release the sun icon. Tips: To properly find the direction of the sun place your finger vertically on a horizontal surface. The direction of the shadow will be the exact opposite direction of the sun. The left upper corner of the screen contains your location information. You can touch the button by its side to enter a location manually. The right upper corner contains the help button. Clicking it will open a help screen detailing the usage instructions.

Displays speed, altitude and current coordinates using device location provider. Also tracks total distance travelled and distance since last gas refill. Distance since last oil change is an upcoming change. Stateful Speedometer does not have network connection privilege, and does not have function to send information out of the device. Note that the information sent out by location provider itself of the device depends on OS setting.

Help to improve the OpenStreetMap with StreetComplete! This app finds incomplete and extendable data in your vicinity and displays it on a map as markers. Each of those is solvable by answering a simple question to complete the info on site. The info you enter is then directly added to the OpenStreetMap in your name, without the need to use another editor.
